The 51st edition of the Centraal Beheer Midwinter Marathon kicked off with a record number of participants. The main event, the Acht van Apeldoorn, was won by Juan Zijderlaan in 22:47, just like last year. In the women's race, Sylvia Mboga Medugu from Denmark won in a time of 26:13.
More than 21,000 participants registered for the 51st edition. This year, there were 2,000 extra participants in the Acht van Apeldoorn due to the addition of an extra start block.
‘The expansion of the Acht worked out well,’ said chairman Frans Mulderij.
