TYVEK race numbers

TYVEK race numbers

PROM’ES originally started as a specialist in race numbers. Since 1995, we have stood behind our slogan “more than a number”. A race number is an organisational tool and a sponsorship tool: PROM'ES produces balanced TYVEK race numbers that make optimal use of all aspects.

Why use TYVEK race numbers?

TYVEK has been the ideal material for race numbers for years. It is almost impossible to tear and completely waterproof. These properties make a TYVEK race number a reliable carrier for your chip, ensuring that your finish is registered. What's more, TYVEK is by far the lightest material available: comfortable for your participants and easy to send if necessary. TYVEK resembles paper and is therefore perfect for full-colour printing, which is a big plus for your sponsors in particular.

  • Extremely strong and tear-resistant
  • Waterproof
  • Light as a feather
  • Perfect for full-colour printing

Product options TYVEK race numbers

The race numbers are custom designed and produced for your event. PROM'ES offers various product options. We print your race number in full colour or black and white, on both the front and back, according to your wishes. We cut the race number to any desired final size. You can also choose rounded corners. With drill holes, your participants can easily attach the race number to their shirt by simply inserting the pins through the perforated holes. In addition, we can optionally provide your race number with tear-off coupons: useful for refreshments, T-shirt distribution and medal engraving on location, for example. A luggage label is also a practical solution.

TYVEK race numbers with personalisation

Finally, we are happy to personalise your race numbers. This could include varying details for each race number, such as a first name, team name, colour bar and T-shirt size on the front and, for example, name and address details on the back. The use of variable data also offers organisational advantages, as demonstrated in the case study below.

Dossards TYVEK Marathon d'Amsterdam

[Case] Amsterdam Marathon

PROM'ES provides the race numbers for the Amsterdam Marathon every year. In 2025, the Amsterdam Marathon had two start locations. Start Area A was on the field in the Olympic Stadium; Start Area B was on Stadionweg, right next to the Olympic Stadium. The start waves were divided based on the participants' expected finish times. The location and colour on the race number corresponded to the race number. For example: A W2 – YELLOW (Start Area A, start wave 2 yellow).

When registering, participants in the Amsterdam Marathon could order a medal engraving. Participants who took advantage of this option had a medal symbol on their race number. They simply showed their race number as proof of payment at the engraving stand in Sporthallen Zuid.

Is TYVEK sustainable?

TYVEK is made from a single synthetic material: polyethylene fibres. This means that TYVEK race numbers can easily be 100% recycled. This is in contrast to race numbers made from a composite material, such as a type of paper reinforced with a type of plastic. Composite materials, such as Pretex, also often weigh at least 120 g/m².

TYVEK is a non-woven material. The material fibres are arranged in a web structure, making TYVEK race numbers very lightweight, yet tear-resistant. PROM'ES race numbers are made from only 55 g/m².

  • No composite material
  • 100% recyclable
  • Lightweight: only 55 g/m²

Recyclage des dossards TYVEK

[Case] Marathon Brabant

The Marathon Brabant traditionally takes place on the last Sunday of October in Etten-Leur. In 2024, the organisation celebrated its 40th anniversary. In 2025, 6,000 participants lined up at the start of a sold-out edition. The organisation makes conscious choices to make the event more sustainable. In this context, participants were able to return their race numbers after the event via one of the three race number collection containers. More than 800 participants took advantage of the initiative.
